Estimate only. Brackets apply for tax year 2026 (income earned in 2025). Excludes solidarity contribution (abolished), tax credits, withholding, or special regimes. Actual tax depends on deductions, credits, and withholding.
Greek personal income tax is progressive across five brackets. Each slice of your income is taxed at the bracket rate — so a €25,000 income pays 9% on the first €10,000, 22% on the next €10,000, and 28% on the final €5,000. The marginal rate is the rate on your last earned euro; the effective rate is the blended average.
ΕΦΚΑ social-security contributions, tax credits (μειώσεις φόρου, including the family-status credit for low incomes), withholding on payroll, the special status of pensioners and farmers, and tax pre-payment (προκαταβολή φόρου) for freelancers. Use the result as a planning baseline, not a final number.
Salaried employees mostly don't — withholding handles it. Freelancers and self-employed do. The simple rule of thumb: take the effective rate from this calculator, set aside that percent of every invoice you receive, and pay quarterly without surprises. Tefteri includes a dedicated Taxes category for exactly this.
